I want to use brushes for graphic design on photoshop, but I'm so lost! How do they work?? I've seen some nice graphics and I need to know how they're made so pretty. Do you just use the brushes like stamps or what? HELP!

No, not just like stamps. They really are like brushing over the picture area with your mouse.
The answers are too long to put here, you really need to get a book about it. Check your local library. Often they have computer books. Definitely your local Colleges.
Or, just search online for photoshop tutorials.
